Sydney Sweeney Calls Off Engagement to Jonathan Davino

Sydney Sweeney has reportedly called off her engagement to longtime partner Jonathan Davino, citing a desire to focus on her career as the primary reason for the split.

The Euphoria star and Davino, a film producer, were first linked in 2018 and got engaged in the spring of 2022. However, after years of public openness about their relationship and wedding plans, reports now suggest that Sweeney has decided she is "not ready to settle down."

A source told People that Sydney is fully immersed in her skyrocketing career, stating: "She's exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She's all about working right now and very excited about all her projects."

The 27-year-old actress has a packed schedule, including the upcoming film adaptation of The Housemaid, Euphoria season 3, and roles portraying boxing icon Christy Martin and Hollywood legend Kim Novak. The source added that while she and Davino still have love for each other, the pressure of the relationship and planning a wedding became overwhelming for her.

Rumours of a split first surfaced when Sweeney was promoting Anyone but You alongside co-star Glen Powell. While both actors admitted to leaning into their on-screen chemistry to fuel romance speculation, those rumours were dismissed since Davino was involved in the film's production. However, whispers of a possible breakup reignited after Sweeney was spotted attending Powell’s sister’s wedding.

Reports also suggest that "things have been rocky for a long time" between the actress and Davino. Earlier this year, it was revealed that the couple had postponed their planned May wedding, and now, it appears that there will be no wedding at all.
