Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova has been rushed to hospital after suffering a fall during rehearsals for the hit BBC dance competition.
According to The Mirror, the Ukrainian-born dancer was rehearsing ahead of the upcoming live shows when she took a tumble, prompting immediate concern from the Strictly crew. Emergency services were called to the studio, and the 35-year-old was stretchered out before being taken to A&E in an ambulance.
An onlooker described the scene as “worrying” and praised the quick response of the production team.
“It looked pretty nasty and no-one was taking any chances,” the insider said. “The Strictly crew rushed into action and she was stretchered out.”
A BBC spokesperson confirmed that the dancer had been taken to hospital as a precaution and is being fully supported by the show’s medical and welfare teams.
“As a precaution, following a fall during rehearsals, Nadiya was taken to hospital for checks and is receiving full support from medical and welfare teams. Rehearsals continue and the Strictly team are in close contact with Nadiya.”
While the nature of her injury has not been disclosed, sources say the decision to call 999 was made immediately to ensure her safety and avoid any potential complications.
Nadiya joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 and quickly became a fan favourite thanks to her dazzling performances and warm rapport with celebrity partners. Over the years, she has danced with the likes of Davood Ghadami, Lee Ryan, Dan Walker, and Matt Goss, reaching the latter stages of the competition multiple times.
Her professionalism and stage presence have made her one of the most recognisable faces on the Strictly roster, and news of her hospitalisation has already sparked concern among fans on social media.
Within hours of the news breaking, hundreds of Strictly viewers took to X and Instagram to send messages of support.
One fan wrote: “Nadiya is one of the most talented pros Strictly has ever had. I hope she makes a speedy recovery.” Another added: “The show won’t be the same without her on Saturday night. Fingers crossed she’s back on her feet soon.”
At this stage, it remains unclear whether Nadiya will be able to participate in this week’s live show. Much will depend on the results of her medical checks and advice from doctors.
