NOEL EDMONDS BUYS HOME ON ISLE OF MAN FOR PART-TIME UK RETURN

Veteran broadcaster Noel Edmonds has revealed he’s bought a home on the Isle of Man, marking a partial return to the British Isles while continuing to live primarily in New Zealand.

The former Deal or No Deal host confirmed that his new property is in the north of the island and that he plans to spend part of the year there, soaking up what he describes as its “massive community spirit” and “sense of pride.”

Speaking to Manx Radio, Edmonds shared how the island instantly made an impression when he first visited three years ago.

“I came for the very first time three years ago, and when you consider I lived in the UK all my life and I knew where it was geographically, I don’t know why I didn’t come before,” he said.

Noel, 76, explained that the friendliness and happiness of the Isle of Man’s residents played a big role in his decision.

“Everyone seems so happy here,” he said. “People look out for each other. I call it the ‘Smile of Man’ because there’s such a positive atmosphere. It feels like a place where people genuinely care about their community.”

The Isle of Man, situated in the Irish Sea between Great Britain and Ireland, is known for its picturesque landscapes, low crime rates, and strong sense of identity. It also boasts a favourable tax regime, though Edmonds made no mention of financial motivations for the move.

While Edmonds intends to enjoy his new Manx home, he confirmed that his main residence will remain in New Zealand, where he relocated in 2019 with his wife, Liz. The couple have embraced life on the other side of the world, enjoying the country’s natural beauty and relaxed lifestyle.

The decision to split his time between the two locations will allow him to reconnect with the UK and enjoy the slower pace of island living without giving up the life he has built in New Zealand.

Noel Edmonds is best known for his decades-long TV career, from Multi-Coloured Swap Shop in the 1970s to Noel’s House Party in the 1990s, and his hugely popular game show Deal or No Deal, which ran for over a decade on Channel 4.

He has also made headlines for his outspoken views on broadcasting, business ventures, and his move away from mainstream television.

For Edmonds, the Isle of Man represents not just a new property, but a fresh chapter in life, one that balances the familiarity of the UK with the new life he’s embraced overseas.

“It’s a beautiful place,” he said. “I look forward to spending more time here and getting to know the people even better.”
