Rebel Wilson has revealed she was caught in a terrifying on-set accident that left her face gushing with blood and needing emergency plastic surgery.
The Pitch Perfect actress, who stars in the upcoming action-comedy Bride Hard, said her final night of filming turned into a medical emergency after she was accidentally struck in the face by a prop gun during a dramatic fight scene.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Rebel explained:
“A gun accidentally got whacked across my face. It was just a freak accident, and my nose got split open, so I left set.”
The accident left Rebel bleeding heavily and in urgent need of medical attention.
“I was freaking out. They take an ambulance, and they have to call a plastic surgeon, because if they didn’t, I would have been permanently disfigured.”
Fortunately, a specialist was called in just in time to stitch her face, and now, you’d never know it happened.
“They did all the stitches, and you can’t tell now.”

The scene, which involved an intense action sequence, was being shot on the last day of production. Rebel admitted the timing couldn’t have been worse, calling it:
“Weirdly unlucky.”
The 44-year-old actress plays a secret agent named Sam in Bride Hard, which also stars her Pitch Perfect co-star Anna Camp. The film is expected to hit cinemas later this year and has been described as a blend of Bridesmaids meets James Bond.
Fans were relieved to hear Rebel is doing well after the ordeal, with many praising her for staying strong in such a scary situation.
As for Rebel, she’s back to smiling and promoting the film, showing once again she’s tough as nails behind the laughter.
