Morgan Burtwistle, better known to millions online as AngryGinge, has officially been crowned King of the Jungle, winning I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2024 after a record-breaking public vote.

The 24-year-old YouTube star from Manchester fought off tough competition from TV favourite Tom Read Wilson, who finished runner-up, and former EastEnders actress Shona McGarty, who placed third after being eliminated earlier in the evening.

With 13 million votes cast in the final, the highest number in at least ten years, the result marks one of the most extraordinary finales in the show’s modern history. ITV bosses are said to be “thrilled” with Ginge’s performance on the show, with his early episodes achieving a staggering 12 million consolidated viewers, the broadcaster’s highest in a decade.

As Ant and Dec announced the result inside the iconic jungle clearing, Ginge looked visibly overwhelmed, struggling to take in the scale of his victory. “I feel amazing,” he said, glowing with disbelief. “Honestly, a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who voted.”

It’s been a remarkable journey for the young star, who grew up on a council estate in Salford and has repeatedly spoken about how surreal the experience has been. His authenticity, humour and heartfelt moments resonated deeply with viewers, many of whom campaigned heavily for him to win throughout the three-week series.

Ginge’s time in the jungle has been packed with memorable moments, from nail-biting trials to hilarious slip-ups, emotional confessions and his standout performance in the legendary Celebrity Cyclone, where he proudly dubbed himself “the pumpkin” while charging through water cannons and flying obstacles.

His positive energy and down-to-earth nature helped him form strong bonds with campmates including Tom Read Wilson, Shona McGarty, and rapper Aitch, who narrowly missed out on the final and publicly backed Ginge to take the crown.

Fans across social media have celebrated his win, calling him one of the most “genuine,” “hilarious,” and “relatable” contestants the series has seen in years. Many praised how he embraced every challenge thrown his way, approaching the jungle with enthusiasm, bravery, and a refreshing lack of ego.

ITV executives are said to be delighted, not just with his popularity but with the ratings success his presence helped drive. Early episodes of the series recorded a phenomenal 12 million consolidated viewers, the highest for the network in at least a decade, demonstrating Ginge’s strong pull with audiences both young and old.

This year’s series has featured a diverse lineup, including Martin Kemp, Ruby Wax, Kelly Brook, Vogue Williams, Eddie Kadi, Alex Scott, and more. But it was the lovable 24-year-old social media star who ultimately captured the nation’s heart.

As Ginge held his crown, still visibly emotional, he thanked viewers once more, saying: “I can’t believe this. What a ride. I’ve dreamt of this moment since I was a kid.”

With the series now wrapped, all eyes will be on what the newly crowned King of the Jungle does next, and whether his victory marks the beginning of an even bigger career ahead.
