Westlife fans are buzzing with excitement as rumours swirl that Mark Feehily may be preparing to rejoin the band, just in time for their historic shows at the Royal Albert Hall later this month.
The beloved Irish pop group, who first formed in 1998, have sold out two nights at the prestigious London venue, their first-ever performances there. The concerts, taking place on October 27th and 28th, will see Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, and Shane Filan joined by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra to perform orchestral renditions of their biggest hits, marking a spectacular celebration of 25 years of Westlife.
While there’s been no official confirmation that Mark will appear at the event, fans have been quick to spot signs that a comeback could be on the cards.
The speculation began after a post circulated on Facebook suggesting that Mark had agreed to take part in a private performance, which is being auctioned off to raise funds for Neurodiversity Ireland. The post has since sparked a frenzy of hopeful comments from fans, many convinced that the singer’s participation in the charity gig could signal his readiness to return to the stage.
One fan wrote: “Does this mean a return for Mark soon??!”
Another added: “He’s well enough to come back! This would be amazing news for Westlife fans everywhere.”
Mark has been on hiatus since 2022 after stepping back from performing due to ongoing health complications. He was forced to miss parts of the group’s Wild Dreams tour after being diagnosed with pneumonia and later underwent surgery, leading to a lengthy recovery period.
Throughout his absence, his bandmates have publicly voiced their love and support for him, frequently reassuring fans that Mark’s health and happiness were the priority.
Speaking previously, Shane Filan said: “Mark’s one of the strongest people we know. We’ve all missed him so much on stage, but we want him to take as long as he needs to get back to full strength.”
The possibility of Mark’s return has given Westlife’s loyal fanbase a renewed sense of excitement. After all, his soaring vocals have been an essential part of the group’s signature sound on hits like Flying Without Wings, You Raise Me Up, and Swear It Again.
The Royal Albert Hall concerts promise to be an unforgettable moment in Westlife’s career, with or without Mark, but for many, the dream is to see all four original members reunited once again under the spotlight.
As one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Westlife at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic would already be magical… but if Mark walks out, I think we’ll all lose it.”
For now, there’s no official word from Mark or the band’s management, but the growing online chatter and his rumoured involvement in the charity performance have given fans a reason to believe that “the boys are back” might soon mean all of them.
After 25 years, countless hits, and sold-out tours around the world, a full reunion would be the ultimate gift for fans, and a fitting way to celebrate one of pop’s most enduring success stories.
