Taylor Swift Debuts Re-Recorded Hit During The Handmaid’s Tale

Taylor Swift once again proved she’s the queen of surprise drops by debuting the re-recorded version of her 2017 hit single Look What You Made Me Do during Monday night’s episode of The Handmaid’s Tale, and fans are losing their minds.

The new version of the revenge anthem, widely regarded as one of the most iconic tracks of her Reputation era, played over a dramatic scene in the hit dystopian series, marking the first official airing of the long-awaited re-recording.

Swifties were quick to take to social media, with many sharing their shock and excitement at hearing the updated vocals and slick new production woven into the show’s chilling storyline.

“THE way I screamed when Taylor’s voice came on, she did NOT come to play with this re-record,” one fan posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Another added: “Only Taylor Swift could use The Handmaid’s Tale to launch Reputation (Taylor’s Version) in the most sinister, poetic way.”

The debut marks a major moment in Swift’s ongoing mission to reclaim her masters, having already re-recorded and released Fearless, Red, Speak Now, and 1989 under her own ownership. With Reputation (Taylor’s Version) looming as the next in line, the sudden drop of Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version) strongly hints that the full album may be on the horizon.

Originally released in 2017, the original Look What You Made Me Do was a seismic shift in Swift’s image and sound, taking direct aim at public feuds and personal betrayals, and debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track’s dramatic tone and iconic visuals, featuring “the old Taylor” being declared dead, cemented it as a pop culture milestone.

Now, with the new version surfacing on one of TV’s most gripping shows, it seems Taylor is once again reminding the world that she’s always ten steps ahead.

While Swift herself hasn’t officially confirmed the release date for Reputation (Taylor’s Version), the internet is already buzzing with theories, and fans are scouring every frame of The Handmaid’s Tale for clues.

One thing’s for sure: Taylor Swift just made Monday night appointment television, and she’s only getting started.
