Fans of the hit comedy game show Taskmaster can now get off the sofa and step straight into the fun, as the programme has launched real-life challenges at some of Britain’s most famous historical landmarks.
In an exciting partnership, English Heritage and Taskmaster have come together this summer to create free, family-friendly experiences at 17 locations across the UK. The event runs until 31 August 2025, giving families plenty of time to join in.
Visitors to sites such as Audley End House in Essex, Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight, and even the world-famous Stonehenge can take part in a series of six specially designed challenges inspired by the quirky, competitive spirit of the TV show.
The activities promise plenty of laughter, creativity, and a little friendly competition. Challenges include:
Building your own castle out of giant Jenga blocks.
Balancing the most rubber ducks on one person without toppling them over.
And other surprise tasks that will have you thinking outside the box!

Each challenge takes around five minutes to complete, but there’s no need to rush, the joy of Taskmaster is in coming up with inventive solutions. You can work together as a family, or try to beat each other for ultimate bragging rights.
Greg Davies, the towering host of Taskmaster, may not be standing there with his golden head trophy in person, but the event has all the spirit of the TV hit. It’s a rare chance for fans of all ages to step into the unpredictable, hilarious world that has made Taskmaster a household favourite.
English Heritage hopes the collaboration will encourage families to explore the UK’s incredible heritage in a fun and engaging way. By mixing history with light-hearted competition, the partnership brings a fresh twist to visiting these iconic sites.
A spokesperson for English Heritage said:
“We’re always looking for new ways to inspire people to connect with history. Taskmaster’s unique blend of creativity, comedy and competition is the perfect way to get families playing together while exploring our wonderful sites.”
Best of all, it’s completely free with your entry to the sites. So if you’ve been looking for an excuse to pack a picnic, head out for a day trip, and make some memories, this summer’s Taskmaster challenge is the perfect opportunity.
The experience will be running daily until the end of August 2025, so whether you’re visiting your local castle or planning a summer holiday around one of the participating locations, there’s still plenty of time to join in.
