TOWIE Star Rushed to A&E After Ignoring Symptoms for 10 Years

The Only Way Is Essex star Chloe Meadows has made a candid and emotional health confession, revealing she suffered in silence with a chronic illness for over a decade before finally being rushed to hospital during filming.

The 32-year-old reality star opened up on the Bedside Manners podcast with Dr Oscar Duke, admitting she ignored serious symptoms of an inflammatory bowel condition for 10 years out of fear of doctors and medical procedures.

“I just didn’t want to deal with it,” Chloe confessed. “I was so scared of having anything done, I thought if I just ignored it, it would go away. But it didn’t.”

Chloe revealed that she first noticed the symptoms at just 16 years old but dismissed them for years. It wasn’t until she reached 26, when she was dieting and noticed she was also losing a significant amount of blood, that she began to worry. Even then, it was only at the insistence of her mother that she finally went to the doctor.

“My mum said I looked grey. I had blood tests done and went back to filming. The next thing I knew, my dad had called me multiple times and then sent a text saying a doctor told me to go straight to A&E.”

The tests revealed dangerously low blood levels, prompting an emergency hospital visit where Chloe was given iron infusions and began a series of diagnostic checks.

“That was the start of it,” she said. “I realised how serious it was and how important it is to listen to your body. I was just terrified, but leaving it so long could have made things much worse.”

Her openness has already resonated with fans, many praising her on social media for raising awareness and breaking the stigma around chronic illness and medical fear.

Chloe’s story serves as a powerful reminder: your health should never be put on hold. And sometimes, the scariest step is just walking into the doctor’s office.
