TOMMY FURY’S DAD TOLD MOLLY-MAE TO WALK AWAY DURING RELATIONSHIP STRUGGLES

John Fury, father of professional boxer Tommy Fury and heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has revealed the blunt advice he once gave to Molly-Mae Hague during a difficult period in her relationship with his son.

The revelation comes in John’s candid new documentary, Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury, which airs next week on BBC Three. In the first episode, John recalls a conversation with Molly-Mae in which he told her to consider leaving Tommy.

“I knew from dealing with Tyson that when the drinking started to come into play, I thought, ‘Not again,’” John explains in the show. “Molly came to me with this stuff, and I said, ‘What you’re best off doing with him, Molly, is walking away, because if he is not gonna change himself, he doesn’t think that much of you, does he?’”

The Love Island couple, who met on the 2019 series and went on to have daughter Bambi in 2023, briefly split last year. While rumours of infidelity swirled at the time, Tommy insists in the documentary that alcohol was the real factor in their breakup.

“The reason for our ending the relationship was alcohol,” Tommy says on camera. “It was becoming an issue and affecting everything in my life. I had to face it.”

The couple reconciled months later, and while neither have shied away from discussing their challenges, they’ve also been vocal about their commitment to making things work.

In the documentary, viewers will see never-before-seen footage of the pair navigating fame, family life, and personal struggles, including the pressures of Tommy’s boxing career and their life in the spotlight.

John’s no-nonsense advice may have been tough to hear, but it highlights his straight-talking approach to family matters. Known for his outspoken personality, John has played a central role in guiding his sons’ boxing careers and isn’t afraid to speak up when he sees trouble brewing.
