TIME 100: Ed Sheeran, Demi Moore and Serena Williams Among World’s Most Influential

Time Magazine has just unveiled its highly anticipated TIME100 list, naming the world’s most influential people of the year, and as ever, it’s packed with global icons, power players, and a few eyebrow-raising inclusions.

Divided into six categories, artists, icons, leaders, titans, pioneers, and innovators, this year’s list features a star-studded lineup, with singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, Hollywood royalty Demi Moore, and tennis champion Serena Williams taking centre stage as standout honourees.

The 2024 edition of the TIME100 features an eclectic mix of individuals shaping culture, politics, tech, and entertainment. Ed Sheeran, who continues to dominate charts and hearts worldwide, is recognised for his musical achievements and philanthropic work. Demi Moore earns her spot as a Hollywood mainstay with a career resurgence and increased advocacy, while Serena Williams is once again praised for her legacy both on and off the court, especially in the realms of business and gender equality.

But while many of the selections have been widely applauded, others are proving more controversial.

The magazine sparked debate late last year when it named Donald Trump Person of the Year for a second time, a move that drew mixed reactions globally. He now features in the leaders category of the TIME100, alongside UK Labour leader Keir Starmer, Trump’s running mate JD Vance, conspiracy theorist RFK Jr., and tech mogul Elon Musk, who retains his title as the world’s richest man.

With names that span politics, activism, tech, sport and the arts, the TIME100 continues to reflect both the influence and divisiveness of power in 2025.
