Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are officially BACK, and this time, they’re headed north… way north.
Sky has confirmed that The Trip To The Northern Lights will be the fifth instalment in the beloved travel-comedy series that began back in 2010. Once again directed by Michael Winterbottom, the new series sees fictionalised versions of the two stars journeying across Scandinavia in pursuit of culture, cuisine… and comic gold.
It’s been over five years since their last outing in The Trip to Greece, but fans haven’t forgotten the banter, celebrity impressions, and surprisingly deep moments that have made the show a cult favourite.
The new series promises more of the same, plus snow, saunas, and a stunning backdrop of the Aurora Borealis.
“I’m delighted that Michael Winterbottom has managed to persuade me at the age of 59 to join Rob, aged 60,” Coogan joked in a press release, “to squeeze the last few drops of comedy from a bottle that we both thought was pretty much empty.”
Rob Brydon also chimed in on X, teasing: “Scandinavia, impressions, and Steve trying not to laugh, we’re back!”

Each series of The Trip sees the duo reviewing top restaurants and exploring iconic landmarks, all while delivering razor-sharp wit and unforgettable impersonations, from Michael Caine to Tom Hardy.
While no premiere date has been announced yet, filming is believed to be underway, with a late 2025 release expected.
Fans are already speculating whether this will be the final trip, or if there’s still one last destination left for the dynamic duo.
