THE CHARLATANS ANNOUNCE 2026 UK TOUR FOLLOWING RELEASE OF NEW ALBUM

British indie legends The Charlatans have announced a brand-new UK tour for Spring 2026 to celebrate the release of their upcoming album We Are Love.

The band, led by frontman Tim Burgess, are gearing up to release their 14th studio album this Friday, their first full-length record in four years, and fans won’t have to wait long to hear the new songs live.

Following the excitement surrounding their December 2025 UK tour, which quickly sold out venues in Leeds, Stoke, Bath, London, Manchester, and Glasgow, The Charlatans have now confirmed 10 extra dates for April and May 2026.

The new leg of the tour kicks off at Norwich UEA on April 24, before visiting Brighton, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Nottingham, Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle, and Aberdeen, and wrapping up at Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on May 6.

The full list of 2026 UK tour dates is as follows:

April 2026
24 – Norwich, UEA
25 – Brighton, The Dome
26 – Bournemouth, O2 Academy
28 – Cardiff, Tramshed

The announcement comes as excitement builds around We Are Love, a record that Burgess describes as “a celebration of connection, resilience, and the power of music to bring people together.”

In a recent interview, Burgess revealed that the album draws inspiration from the band’s post-pandemic touring experiences and from the renewed sense of unity among fans at their live shows.

“We’ve all been through a lot in recent years,” he said. “We Are Love is about finding light and joy again, and these songs are meant to be played live, to feel that energy with the audience.”

Fans can expect a mix of fresh tracks from We Are Love alongside timeless favourites like The Only One I Know, One to Another, North Country Boy, and Sproston Green, songs that have cemented The Charlatans’ reputation as one of the UK’s most enduring live acts.

Formed in the late 1980s, The Charlatans became a defining band of the Madchester and Britpop eras, blending swaggering indie rock with soulful psychedelia. More than three decades later, their music still resonates across generations, and their live performances continue to draw crowds of devoted fans.

Tickets for the Spring 2026 tour are expected to go on sale this Friday, the same day We Are Love officially drops. Fans who pre-order the album from the band’s official website will get exclusive early access to tour tickets, a move that’s already driving buzz online.

With We Are Love marking another milestone in their storied career, and a major tour set to follow, 2026 is shaping up to be a huge year for The Charlatans, proving once again that some bands truly never fade away.
