Superman Swaps Cape for CBeebies: David Corenswet Reads a Bedtime Story

Hollywood’s newest Superman, David Corenswet, is proving he has a softer side as he makes his UK television debut on CBeebies Bedtime Story.

The 30-year-old actor, who will don the iconic blue suit and red cape in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman reboot, has filmed a special episode of the beloved BBC children’s show, following in the footsteps of stars like Tom Hardy and Harry Styles.

Corenswet reads What Does Daddy Do? by Rachel Bright, a heartwarming tale about a little girl named Daisy who wonders what her dad gets up to while she’s away at nursery.

The episode, which airs this week on CBeebies and will also be available on BBC iPlayer, gives fans a glimpse of the star in a much more relaxed setting than we’re used to seeing from the Man of Steel.

Since being cast as Superman, Corenswet has become one of Hollywood’s most talked-about young stars. Known previously for his roles in Netflix’s Hollywood and The Politician, he now joins the ranks of Henry Cavill and Christopher Reeve in playing one of cinema’s most iconic characters.

On CBeebies, Corenswet joins a long list of global names who’ve helped children wind down before bedtime, including David Tennant, Kate Middleton, and Tom Hardy.

Fans can catch his episode on CBeebies this week, or stream it on BBC iPlayer afterwards.
