Snooker Legends Steve Davis and Jimmy White to Renew Rivalry — As DJs

Snooker legends Steve Davis and Jimmy White are set to reignite one of the sport’s most iconic rivalries, but this time, they’ll be trading cues for turntables.

Fans of Eighties snooker will remember the pair’s fierce battles under the bright lights of the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, which defined an era and kept millions of viewers glued to their screens. Now, decades later, Davis and White are returning to Sheffield, the spiritual home of snooker, not to pot balls, but to drop beats.

The two sporting greats will go head-to-head in a DJ Battle at the Rock N Roll Circus festival, which takes place on Saturday 30th August.

The news has already caused a buzz among snooker enthusiasts and music fans alike, with many curious to see how the pair’s rivalry translates to the world of DJing.

Although details about the format of the battle are being kept under wraps, organisers have promised a unique and entertaining spectacle. Davis, now 66, and White, 62, will each take turns on the decks at Sheffield’s popular festival, playing sets to impress the crowd and, inevitably, each other.

The DJ battle has quickly become the talk of the snooker community, with fans worldwide weighing in on social media about which legend will have the better musical chops.

One fan commented:

“Davis has always been a bit leftfield with his music, I reckon he’s got this one. But never underestimate Jimmy’s flair!”

Indeed, Davis has long been known for his eclectic taste in music and has even carved out a second career as a respected DJ on the electronic and progressive music scene. He’s appeared at numerous festivals and clubs over the years, proving his talents go far beyond the snooker table.

Jimmy White, on the other hand, is known for his natural showmanship and charisma, qualities that could win over the crowd on the night. Whether his style behind the decks can match Davis’s technical know-how remains to be seen.

But Davis and White aren’t the only former sportsmen adding star power to the festival. Former England football international and popular pundit Chris Waddle will also be performing at Rock N Roll Circus, rounding out a truly unique line-up of sporting and musical legends.

The festival promises a mix of live music, entertainment, and nostalgia, and the Davis-White battle is set to be a highlight of the event.

Tickets for Rock N Roll Circus are already on sale, with organisers expecting a sell-out crowd as snooker and music fans descend on Sheffield to see two of the game’s greatest legends face off one more time.
