Sam Thompson in “Absolute Pieces” as Soccer Aid Challenge Pushes Him to the Limit

Made in Chelsea star and radio host Sam Thompson has revealed he’s battling serious pain as he pushes through the fourth gruelling day of his epic Soccer Aid challenge, and his leg is “in absolute pieces.”

The TV favourite is currently taking on a staggering 260-mile journey to deliver the official Soccer Aid match ball from Stamford Bridge in London to Old Trafford in Manchester, all to raise money for UNICEF. But while spirits were high early on, the brutal physical toll is starting to show.

Waking up in Stoke-on-Trent ahead of Day 4, Sam admitted the struggle is very real:

“Today is a tough day. It’s wet, it’s cold, it’s windy. My leg is in absolute pieces, but we go again.”

The 31-year-old, who’s become a fan favourite thanks to his boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm, has been powering through a nasty calf injury to keep going, and with over £600,000 already raised for charity, he says the support is giving him the strength to carry on.

“We passed the halfway point yesterday and it was such a great day. I’ve got to try and channel that mindset and spirit,” he added. “Today is going to be one step in front of the other. Also, the fact that we have raised over £600,000 is keeping me going, that will warm anyone’s soul!”

To help boost morale, Sam was joined by a surprise guest at Vale Park, home of Port Vale FC, his close friend and fellow reality star Josh ‘JP’ Patterson, who laced up his trainers to run alongside him for the first stretch of the day.

The pair have a long-standing friendship from their Made in Chelsea days, and fans were thrilled to see JP step in to offer support, not just emotionally, but physically too, sharing the load as Sam continues his extraordinary effort.

The Soccer Aid for UNICEF match takes place this weekend at Old Trafford, with celebrities and football legends going head-to-head to raise even more funds for children in need around the world.

And while the big match will undoubtedly be a spectacle, it’s Sam’s personal journey, full of grit, heart, and blistered legs, that’s truly stealing the spotlight.
