Melanie C has sent Spice Girls fans into a frenzy after revealing that not every member of the legendary girl group is included in all of their WhatsApp chat groups.
In a candid interview while in Australia, the singer, famously known as Sporty Spice, admitted that Victoria Beckham (Posh) and Geri Halliwell (Ginger) are sometimes left out of certain message threads shared by the group.
“There are subgroups within the group,” Melanie explained.
“I definitely know there is a chat group that doesn’t contain me, but somewhere else we keep Ginger or Posh out. Like all friendship groups, we have many ways of communicating.”
No-show Spice Girls spark feud rumours once again
Her comments come hot on the heels of Mel B’s second wedding to Rory McPhee in Morocco, where Melanie C was the only Spice Girl in attendance.
Despite Emma Bunton attending the first ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral in London last month, neither Geri nor Victoria showed up for either celebration.
Victoria is understood to have sent her apologies, while Geri’s no-show in Morocco is being widely interpreted as a sign of continued tension with Mel B, especially after Mel C’s remarks.

A strained sisterhood
For many fans, the hopes of a full Spice Girls reunion now feel more distant than ever.
Geri’s absence from both wedding events is particularly significant given that she had reportedly been given the opportunity to extend an olive branch to Mel B by attending the Moroccan ceremony.
But according to sources close to the group, past tensions may have prevented her from doing so.
Back in 2019, Mel B revealed on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories that she and Geri had shared an intimate relationship in the early days of the band. Geri later denied the claim, calling it “hurtful” and “not true.”
The fallout from that bombshell interview is believed to have created a lasting rift between the pair.
Outfit regrets and nostalgia
During the same interview, Melanie C also confessed she regrets not holding on to her iconic Spice Girls outfits from their late '90s heyday.
“I didn’t realise how much they’d mean to people,” she said. “Looking back, I wish I’d kept more.”
Still hopeful – but realistic
Despite the split chat groups and absent friendships, Melanie C continues to keep the Spice Girls legacy alive, often hinting at her willingness for a full reunion. But she’s also realistic about the challenges involved.
“It’s like any long friendship, we’ve had our ups and downs,” she added.
For fans, it’s just another chapter in the rollercoaster story of one of the most beloved girl groups of all time.
