Rooney vs Fury! Soccer Aid Teams Revealed for Star-Studded Showdown at Old Trafford

The countdown to this year’s Soccer Aid for UNICEF has officially begun, and the full line-ups for both England and the World XI teams have now been revealed, promising another unmissable night of football, fun, and fundraising.

Set to take place at Manchester United’s iconic Old Trafford stadium on Saturday, June 15, the annual charity clash will once again bring together celebrities, sports stars, and football legends for a spectacular showdown in aid of children around the world.

This year’s big twist? Wayne Rooney is managing the England side, with none other than Tyson Fury joining the dugout as one of the coaching team. It’s an unexpected pairing that’s sure to bring fireworks to the touchline.

Joining them on the England coaching bench are Harry Redknapp, Vicky McClure, and goalkeeping coach David James, rounding off a team stacked with both football knowledge and personality.

Team England Line-Up:

The England squad is a mix of sporting greats, music stars, comedians, and TV favourites, including:

·        Steven Bartlett (Entrepreneur & “Dragons’ Den” star)

·        Alex Brooker & Paddy McGuinness (Comedians and returning Soccer Aid favourites)

·        Louis Tomlinson (One Direction star)

·        Tom Grennan (Chart-topping musician)

·        Bear Grylls, Sir Mo Farah, and Sam Thompson (TV icons and reality stars)

·        Former footballers like Jermain Defoe, Toni Duggan, Aaron Lennon, Joe Hart, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Jill Scott, and Steph Houghton

·        Olympian Dame Denise Lewis and presenter Sam Quek

This diverse squad will be looking to bring the trophy back home and deliver a performance packed with heart, and a few laughs.

🌍 World XI Team:

Managed by legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, the World XI features a dynamic and global line-up, including:

·        Tony Bellew (Ex-boxer), Martin Compston, and Richard Gadd (Actors)

·        Footballing legends like Carlos Tevez, Nemanja Vidic, Leonardo Bonucci, Edwin van der Sar, and Robbie Keane

·        Bryan Habana (Rugby icon), Dermot Kennedy (Musician), Gorka Marquez (Dancer), and Big Zuu (YouTuber)

·        Social media stars Tobi Brown and Noah Beck, alongside athletes like Nadia Nadim, Livi Sheldon, and Kaylyn Kyle

 

With such an eclectic mix of talent on both sides, Soccer Aid 2024 is shaping up to be one of the most entertaining editions yet.

Tickets are selling fast, and with all proceeds going to UNICEF to support children in crisis, it’s a match where everyone wins, even if only one team lifts the trophy.
