Rod Stewart Spent £300K to Play Glastonbury, But Festival Still Said NO to Extra Time

Sir Rod Stewart has revealed just how much he's sacrificing to perform at Glastonbury 2025, and it's not just a matter of time.

The legendary crooner has opened up about his Legends Slot at Worthy Farm, admitting he’s forking out a staggering £300,000 of his own money to make the dream set happen. But despite the financial commitment, Glastonbury bosses have refused to give him an extra 15 minutes of stage time.

In a candid interview ahead of the big performance next Saturday, the 80-year-old music icon said:

“They only gave me an hour and a quarter.
So I begged them, ‘Can I do another 15 minutes? Because usually I play for two hours.’”

Unfortunately, organisers declined the request, meaning many fan-favourite hits will be left off the setlist, even with three special guest appearances lined up.

One confirmed guest is none other than Ronnie Wood, Rod’s old bandmate from Faces and longtime Rolling Stones guitarist. The other guests remain a closely guarded secret, adding even more intrigue to what’s already one of the most anticipated Glasto moments in years.

Stewart explained that the reduced slot has made it tricky to fit in all the hits his fans know and love:

“There’s a lot of songs that people adore that I won’t be able to play.”

Despite the limitations, Sir Rod says he’s still honoured to perform, noting that the £300,000 cost covers everything from stage production to special effects and guest logistics, money he’s putting in himself for the love of the gig.

Fans have taken to social media to express their frustration at Glastonbury’s decision, with many arguing that Rod Stewart deserves more than 75 minutes on one of the world’s biggest stages.

Whether he’s playing Maggie May, Do Ya Think I’m Sexy, or Sailing, one thing’s for sure, Rod will make every second count.
