Rihanna’s Rumoured London Comeback Shows Pushed Back to 2026

Rihanna fans were left heartbroken earlier this year when rumours of a huge London comeback seemed to fizzle out before they even began.

Back in February, speculation was buzzing that the Barbadian superstar was about to announce a six-night residency at the London Stadium. Reports suggested the first date would be July 4, just five days after Glastonbury wrapped, sparking whispers that she could also be a surprise headliner at the iconic festival.

The rumours sent the Navy (Rihanna’s loyal fanbase) into overdrive, with many convinced her return to the stage was finally happening after years away from touring. However, despite multiple reports from major outlets, including The Telegraph, no official announcement was ever made.

Instead, Glastonbury went ahead without RiRi, with headline sets from The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo. And the much-anticipated London Stadium shows? Quietly shelved… or so it seemed.

Now, there’s fresh hope for fans. According to The Sun, a source close to the singer has revealed that the residency is still very much on the cards, just not for 2025.

“The dates are being moved to 2026, and Rihanna’s team are confident they can make it work,” the insider reportedly said.

While it might be frustrating news for those who were ready to queue for tickets this year, the delay could actually be a blessing in disguise. 2026 will mark the 10th anniversary of Rihanna’s last studio album, Anti, which dropped in 2016 and remains one of her most critically acclaimed works.

It’s also worth noting that RiRi has been extremely selective with her live performances in recent years. Since completing her Anti World Tour in 2016, she’s only taken to the stage for rare appearances, most notably her 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show, where she shocked the world by revealing her pregnancy mid-performance.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music, with Rihanna repeatedly teasing that her ninth studio album is “coming soon”, though “soon” in RiRi terms has now stretched to almost a decade. If the 2026 shows do go ahead, they could very well be timed alongside the release of that elusive album.

The London Stadium residency would also be one of her most ambitious UK ventures to date. Six nights at the venue would see her perform to hundreds of thousands of fans, cementing her status as one of the biggest live acts in the world.
