RUBY WAX RUMOURED TO JOIN I’M A CELEBRITY 2025 LINE-UP

Television favourite Ruby Wax is the latest star tipped to appear on this year’s eagerly anticipated series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

According to reports, the 71-year-old comedian and broadcaster is in advanced talks with ITV bosses ahead of the new series, which is set to return to Australia next month. If confirmed, it will mark Ruby’s first time taking part in the long-running reality show, and producers are said to be “delighted” at the idea of having such a well-known face joining the camp.

Ruby first shot to fame in the mid-1980s, starring in the ITV sitcom Girls on Top alongside Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French, before becoming one of the BBC’s most recognisable faces with her acclaimed celebrity interview series Ruby Wax Meets…. The show saw her go one-on-one with some of the biggest stars of the era, including Madonna, Donald Trump, and Goldie Hawn.

Now, it seems Ruby could be swapping her famous interviews for bushtucker trials.

A source told The Sun:

“Ruby’s a proper TV legend and adds real gravitas to this year’s line-up. She’s interviewed some of the biggest stars in the world, so she’ll have no problem getting to know her fellow campmates. It will make great TV for viewers.”

If the rumours are true, Ruby will be joining a long list of big-name celebrities expected to enter the jungle this season, as ITV aims to deliver one of its most star-studded casts yet. Other rumoured contestants include Louis Walsh, Colleen Nolan, and Danny Cipriani, though official names won’t be confirmed until closer to the launch.

The new series will once again be hosted by Ant and Dec, who are returning to Australia following last year’s ratings success. The show remains one of ITV’s biggest annual hits, drawing millions of viewers who tune in to watch celebrities face their fears, from sky-high challenges to creepy-crawly-filled trials.

Ruby, known for her sharp wit and infectious humour, has also been open in recent years about her mental health advocacy work, including her candid books and stage shows about mindfulness and depression. Fans believe her honesty and humour would make her a perfect addition to the jungle dynamic, mixing comedy with emotional depth.

One social media user wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

“If Ruby Wax really goes into I’m A Celeb, I’m 100% watching. She’s hilarious, intelligent, and will have the best stories.”

Another added:

“She’s the kind of celeb who’ll either run the camp or end up interviewing everyone. Either way, it’ll be brilliant.”

While ITV has yet to officially confirm Ruby’s involvement, producers are said to be finalising contracts this week before the cast fly out to Queensland in early November.

If confirmed, Ruby would follow in the footsteps of other British comedy legends who’ve appeared on the show in recent years, including Vic Reeves, Sue Perkins, and John Cleese, proving that I’m A Celebrity still knows how to blend nostalgia with entertainment.

Whether she’s dishing out her trademark sarcasm or taking on a bushtucker trial with a grin, one thing’s for sure, Ruby Wax in the jungle would be TV gold.
