ROBBIE WILLIAMS POSTPONES NEW ALBUM TO AVOID TAYLOR SWIFT CHART CLASH

Robbie Williams has confirmed that the release of his upcoming album Britpop has been postponed, and the reason is all down to Taylor Swift.

The former Take That star had been due to release his highly anticipated record on October 10, 2025, but he and his team have decided to delay the drop to avoid clashing with Taylor Swift’s new album The Life of a Showgirl, which lands just a week earlier.

Fans who pre-ordered Britpop this week received an official email from Robbie’s team explaining the decision.

“Due to scheduling changes, Britpop will now be released on February 6, 2026,” the message read.

Robbie’s camp is hoping the move will give him the best possible chance of scoring another UK No. 1 album.

An insider told The Sun: “Robbie will go down in the history books if he scores another No. 1, and he’s not taking any chances. Taylor is undoubtedly the biggest artist in the world right now and her first-week sales are sure to eclipse any other artist who has released a record in recent years.”

“The sales will still be massive in the second week, so Robbie and his team decided it’s better to just move the release date. The new date in February has actually opened up loads more exciting opportunities, so there will be a lot happening in the New Year.”

The decision to delay may frustrate some fans who were eager for new music before Christmas, but many have taken to social media to praise Robbie for playing the long game.

One fan wrote on X: “Robbie knows the industry. February will be his month, I’ll be first in line for Britpop.”

Another commented: “Smart move. No one can compete with Taylor Swift in week one sales, but Robbie deserves that No. 1 spot!”

The album Britpop is Robbie’s first major studio project since his 2022 compilation album XXV, which celebrated 25 years of his solo career. While details of the tracklist are still under wraps, Robbie has previously teased that it will be a mix of nostalgic Britpop sounds with a modern twist, a nod to the music that shaped his early years.

With the new release date set for February, Robbie fans can expect fresh promotion in the New Year, including TV appearances and possibly a major tour announcement to coincide with the album launch.

For now, the countdown to Britpop continues, just a little longer than expected.
