Terry Luttrell, former lead singer of iconic rock band REO Speedwagon, has been involved in a terrifying car accident after falling asleep at the wheel following a late-night afterparty.
On June 15, after a one-off REO Speedwagon reunion concert at Illinois’ State Farm Center, Terry stayed up until 4:30am signing autographs and celebrating with fans. Despite feeling sleepy, he decided to drive to St. Louis for another event the following day.
The 1970s rock legend admitted to News-Gazette that he nodded off while driving on Interstate 57, leading to a rollover crash that completely totalled his car. Thankfully, Terry survived the incident, waking up “in a cocoon” inside the wreckage.
Though shaken, Terry has been reported in stable condition after being rushed to hospital. Fans of the band have flooded social media with well wishes for the beloved singer.
