R. Kelly Hospitalised After Shocking Overdose – Lawyers Claim Prison Staff to Blame

Disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly has been rushed to hospital following a suspected drug overdose inside his prison cell, according to explosive new legal documents filed by his legal team.

The I Believe I Can Fly singer, currently serving a 30-year sentence for racketeering and sex trafficking, allegedly suffered the overdose after being deliberately given excessive anxiety medication by prison staff, his attorneys claim.

According to court filings, the overdose occurred last week, and Kelly, real name Robert Sylvester Kelly, had to receive emergency medical attention. His legal team is now accusing prison authorities of malicious intent, alleging the overdose was part of a larger campaign to endanger the fallen star.

Even more disturbingly, Kelly also claims he was placed in solitary confinement on June 10, shortly after he accused prison staff of orchestrating a plot to kill him. His attorneys argue this move was retaliatory in nature.

The court documents paint a dark picture of a man increasingly paranoid and distrustful of his captors. However, federal prosecutors have dismissed the claims as “deeply unserious,” refusing to give them any weight.

The Bureau of Prisons also declined to comment on what it referred to as “pending litigation,” raising more questions than answers.

This latest incident adds another chapter to the saga of a once-revered music icon who was exposed as a serial abuser during the #MeToo movement. After years of accusations and denials, Kelly was finally convicted in 2021 on multiple charges, including sex trafficking, coercion, and racketeering.

While fans of his music remain divided, legal experts say this overdose and the claims surrounding it are unlikely to impact his current sentence, unless new evidence of abuse or misconduct inside prison walls emerges.

As Kelly’s team continues to push for further investigation, the public is once again reminded of the dark legacy left behind by a man who once dominated the charts.
