QUEEN’S BRIAN MAY REVEALS BAND BACK IN STUDIO AND EYEING LAS VEGAS SHOWS

Queen fans have reason to celebrate after Brian May and Roger Taylor revealed that the legendary rock band are not ready to call it a day just yet.

Speaking in a new interview with Rolling Stone, the pair were quick to dismiss speculation that their huge 2024 Rhapsody Tour marked the end of the road for Queen.

“I don’t think we’re done,” Taylor said. “And I don’t think we’re gonna say, you know, final farewell tour or whatever. ’Cause it never is, is it?”

Adam Lambert keeping Freddie’s spirit alive

Since 2011, the band have toured extensively with Adam Lambert stepping in as frontman, bringing a fresh energy while still honouring the incomparable legacy of Freddie Mercury. Lambert’s powerful vocals have helped Queen captivate new generations of fans, while also thrilling long-time followers with faithful renditions of their greatest hits.

The most recent leg of their Rhapsody Tour concluded in Tokyo in 2024, drawing massive crowds across the globe and proving that the appetite for Queen’s music is as strong as ever.

Back in the studio

Perhaps even more exciting for fans is May’s revelation that Queen have been experimenting with new material.

“Not many people know, but Adam and we have been in the studio trying things,” May explained. “Nothing really materialised so far. Some things are meant to be and some things are not.”

While there’s no official word on whether the sessions will produce a new album or single, the very idea of Queen exploring fresh creative ground has sent ripples of excitement through their fanbase.

The lure of Las Vegas

May also hinted at the possibility of Queen staging a spectacular residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas, the state-of-the-art venue renowned for its groundbreaking visuals and immersive concert experiences.

“I’m very keen on the Sphere,” May admitted. “It’s got my mind working.”

For a band famous for pushing the boundaries of live performance, from the iconic 1985 Live Aid set to elaborate stadium tours, The Sphere could provide the perfect stage for Queen to reinvent their show once again.

No sign of slowing down

Despite being over five decades into their career, May and Taylor remain enthusiastic about the future. They’ve consistently stated that they see no reason to retire as long as the fans keep turning up, and with sell-out tours and younger audiences discovering Queen through films like Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), it seems the music will continue to live on in new ways.

For now, fans can only wait and see whether the experimental studio sessions evolve into something more, and whether Las Vegas could be the next stop on Queen’s incredible journey.

One thing is certain: this is not the end of Queen.
