Peter Kay Channels Bridget Jones in Hilarious New Autobiography

Beloved comedian Peter Kay has revealed he’s returning to bookshelves with a brand-new autobiography, and this time, it’s deeply personal and typically hilarious.

Titled Peter Kay’s Diary: The Monthly Memoir of a Boy from Bolton, the book will offer a unique take on the traditional autobiography by breaking down his life month-by-month in diary-style entries.

The announcement comes as Kay continues his hugely successful comeback tour across the UK, marking a triumphant return to the spotlight after a long break from the public eye. Now, he’s bringing fans even closer with a look at the moments, big and small, that have shaped him.

“Introducing… Peter Kay’s Diary,” the comedian wrote. “The most personal and hilarious book yet. Join me for a laugh-out-loud journey through my life, month by month.”

True to form, Kay couldn’t resist adding a twist of humour to the reveal. The book’s cover art features a spoof of Bridget Jones’ Diary, with Peter’s face cheekily photoshopped onto the iconic pose, setting the tone for what promises to be a riotous ride through the decades.

A teaser from the publisher adds:

“Think of this autobiography as a twelve-month subscription to my memories and meanderings across the calendar year. With each month reflecting a different phase of my life, complete with dodgy decisions, bizarre plot twists and more than a few laugh-out-loud moments.”

Kay previously penned two bestselling books, The Sound of Laughter and Saturday Night Peter, both of which topped UK charts. This latest memoir looks set to follow in those footsteps, blending heart and hilarity in the way only Peter Kay can.

No release date has been confirmed yet, but pre-orders are expected to open soon, and fans are already clamouring to get their hands on a copy.
