Paris Jackson Calls Off Engagement to Justin Long: “Breakup Tears”

Paris Jackson has confirmed that she and her fiancé Justin Long have ended their engagement, just days after being spotted tearful in public.

The 27-year-old daughter of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, took to X on Thursday to break the news. Addressing speculation over recent photographs showing her visibly upset on July 23, she told fans the tears were indeed the result of the split.

“They were breakup tears,” she wrote, making her first public statement about the end of the relationship.

Paris and Justin, 46, had been dating for over a year, with their engagement reportedly taking place earlier in 2025. The couple were seen together at several public events and appeared happy in recent months, making the news of their split a surprise to many fans.

Although neither Paris nor Justin has given an official reason for the breakup, sources close to the pair suggest that busy schedules and lifestyle differences may have contributed. Paris has been focused on her music career, performing live and working on new material, while Justin has been tied up with acting commitments in both television and film.

Paris, who is also a model and actress, has been open in the past about the challenges of relationships in the public eye. She has previously spoken about the pressure of growing up in the shadow of her father’s global fame and how it has shaped her approach to love, trust, and privacy.

Fans were quick to rally around her after she confirmed the news, sending thousands of messages of support on social media. Many urged her to focus on self-care, while others expressed excitement for her to pour her emotions into her music.

The breakup follows her being spotted in tears in Malibu on July 23, just over a week ago (pictured).

Paris is no stranger to personal challenges. She has spoken openly about her struggles with mental health, including periods of depression and anxiety. Over the years, she has used her platform to advocate for emotional well-being and encourage others to seek help when needed.

While the end of her engagement marks a difficult chapter, Paris has also proven herself to be a resilient figure. Friends say she is leaning on her inner circle for support and is channelling her energy into her creative projects.
