PETE WICKS REVEALS THE ONE QUESTION HE HATES BEING ASKED

Pete Wicks has opened up about one question he absolutely dreads, and it’s one many people over 30 will relate to.

The former TOWIE star revealed that he’s constantly asked when he plans to settle down and have children, admitting that the question leaves him feeling “pressured” and frustrated.

Speaking candidly, the 36-year-old said:

“I get asked all the time, ‘When are you having kids? When are you going to settle down?’ because I’m heading towards 40. And I do find it a bit of an annoying question. You know, no one asks people who have settled down why they have settled down. Do you know what I mean?”

Pete, who is known for his straight-talking personality, went on to explain that he believes there’s often a double standard when it comes to asking about marriage and children.

“No one says to someone with kids, ‘Why have you got kids?’ So why would you ask someone who doesn’t have kids why they don’t?”

The Essex star has been linked to a number of high-profile relationships over the years, but says he’s happy focusing on himself right now.

“I’m not anti-kids, and I’m not anti-settling down. I just think it’s a decision you make when you’re ready, not because everyone keeps asking you when you’re going to do it. It puts unnecessary pressure on people.”

Pete also reflected on how society views men versus women when it comes to starting a family, admitting that while he feels the pressure, he knows women often have it worse.

“I think there is more pressure on men these days, but obviously women get it worse because of the biological clock thing. It’s like we’re all on some sort of timetable, and I don’t think life should work like that.”

Fans have praised Pete for speaking out about an issue that many single people in their 30s and 40s face, calling it “refreshing” and “relatable.”

Relationship experts have pointed out that questions about children or marriage can often feel intrusive, even when well-intentioned. Dr. Linda Papadopoulos recently told The Guardian:

“People assume that asking about children is small talk, but for many it can be a deeply personal and sensitive subject. It’s better to let people volunteer that information rather than putting them on the spot.”

Pete continues to work on TV projects and is a regular fixture on celebrity podcasts. While he might not be rushing down the aisle or planning a nursery anytime soon, his message is clear, he’ll do things in his own time.
