Just when it seemed the long-awaited Oasis reunion tour was finally bringing peace to the Gallagher brothers, new rumours have emerged suggesting that Liam and Noel may still be keeping their distance, at least behind the scenes.
According to a report earlier this week in The Sun, organisers of the upcoming world tour are allegedly going to great lengths to keep the famously fiery siblings apart while backstage. The article claimed that each brother has their own VIP ticket allocation for friends, family, and celebrity fans, and whichever brother’s list you’re on determines which green room or after-party you’ll be invited to.
But in typical Liam fashion, the former frontman has wasted no time in shutting down the speculation with a cutting post on social media. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) yesterday, May 3, he dismissed the rumours with a characteristically blunt response:
“After party’s are for wkers. I’m getting straight off after the gigs get my beauty sleep this level of sexiness doesn’t happen by staying up talking bollox to b***ds.”
Classic Liam.
The comment not only pours cold water on the idea of a post-show VIP divide, but also reinforces the singer’s disdain for showbiz pretence, even in the middle of one of the most highly anticipated musical reunions of the decade.
While fans were thrilled by the recent confirmation of a global Oasis tour, marking the band’s first proper comeback since their explosive split in 2009, there’s been no shortage of drama surrounding the details. The Gallaghers’ notoriously strained relationship has remained rocky over the years, with public spats on social media and in the press fuelling doubt about their ability to perform together again.
Still, with the tour officially happening, fans are cautiously optimistic that the music will rise above the mayhem.
So, will Liam and Noel share a pint backstage and hug it out before going on stage? Maybe not. But if Liam’s tweet is anything to go by, he’s more focused on the performance, and his beauty sleep, than any supposed sibling split behind the curtain.
One thing’s for sure: when the first chords of Live Forever ring out, no one will be thinking about after-parties.
