Oasis fans just got the moment they’ve been dreaming about for over a decade, Liam and Noel Gallagher back together… in a brand new Adidas Originals advert.
Yes, seriously.
The warring brothers, who famously split in 2009 following years of public fallouts and Britpop drama, have shocked the music and fashion worlds by appearing together for the first time in over 15 years, promoting a new Adidas Spezial campaign.
The moody black-and-white video dropped on Adidas UK’s social channels today and features iconic Oasis imagery, moody Manchester streets, and both Liam and Noel walking through opposite alleyways before stopping, and facing each other, at the end.
No words are spoken. Just a smirk from Liam. A raised eyebrow from Noel. Cue the caption: “Spezial campaign..”
Social media exploded within minutes, with fans tweeting things like “If Adidas can get Oasis to reunite, maybe world peace isn’t so far off” and “I don’t care if it’s for trainers, this is bigger than the Brit Awards.”
While the duo hasn’t made any public statements about their appearance, Liam did cheekily tweet, “Told ya I’d get him back. Even if it’s just for a pair of creps.”
This isn’t the first time Adidas has worked with Liam, he previously starred in a Spezial campaign in 2019. But the surprise inclusion of Noel this time around has fans hopeful that maybe, just maybe, a full musical reunion isn’t off the table.
Music insiders suggest this could be the first soft step towards thawing icy relations between the brothers. “It might not be Glastonbury just yet,” one source said, “but this is the closest we’ve seen them in years. Literally.”
Whether it’s for fashion or foreshadowing, one thing’s certain, seeing Oasis in the same frame again is giving fans all the nostalgic feels.
Could this be the moment that kicks off the greatest comeback in British rock history?
