Miley Cyrus has cemented her place in Hollywood history, literally, as it was announced she will be honoured with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Flowers singer, 31, said it “feels like a dream” to join the prestigious list of stars who have left their mark on the iconic boulevard.
Reflecting on the news in a heartfelt Instagram post, Miley wrote:
“I can’t believe this is real. It feels like a dream to be recognised alongside so many artists and creators who have inspired me throughout my life. Thank you to my fans, my family, and everyone who’s believed in me through every era of my career. I’m so proud of how far we’ve come.”
Miley shot to fame in her teens as the lead of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, before reinventing herself as one of the most daring and acclaimed pop stars of her generation. Over the years, she’s scored multiple Grammy nominations, chart-topping albums and singles, and widespread acclaim for her vocal and artistic growth.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce confirmed she’ll receive her star during a ceremony later this year. A spokesperson said:
“Miley Cyrus is an undeniable global icon whose impact spans music, television, and film. Her authenticity, creativity, and talent continue to inspire millions.”
Fans have already begun planning trips to Hollywood Boulevard to catch a glimpse of her name immortalised in the famous sidewalk, while many took to social media to express their excitement.
Alongside her smash hit single Flowers, which topped charts around the world and won her a Grammy earlier this year, Miley has also been praised for her philanthropic work, supporting causes from LGBTQ+ rights to homelessness.
As Miley herself summed up in her post:
“It’s been an incredible ride so far… and the best is yet to come.”
The date of the unveiling ceremony is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, and you can bet it’ll be one of the biggest star-studded events of the year.
