Pop icon Miley Cyrus has opened up in a refreshingly honest interview, revealing that her choice of modest swimwear has nothing to do with fashion, and everything to do with body insecurity.
Despite being one of the most talked-about celebrities on the planet, known for her bold stage outfits and fearless attitude, Miley says she still struggles deeply with how she views her own body. Speaking in a new interview, the 31-year-old shared that her decision to wear less revealing swimsuits stems from personal discomfort, not public pressure.
“I still wear more modest swimsuits because I’m so insecure about my body,” she admitted.
The Flowers singer, who has been in the public eye since she was a teenager starring on Hannah Montana, explained that years of scrutiny, both online and in the media, left her with lasting self-esteem issues. And although her performances often radiate confidence, she says it’s still something she battles every day.
“I’m not ashamed to admit it. There are parts of my body I don’t love, and I’m still working on accepting them,” she continued.

Cyrus has long been a vocal advocate for mental health and self-love, and fans praised her candour, flooding social media with support and appreciation for her vulnerability.
Miley’s fashion choices have also evolved in recent years. While her early 2010s era was filled with skin-baring looks, shocking red-carpet moments, and viral onstage antics, the singer’s current style is more muted, elegant, and, as she described, “comfortable.”
As she gears up for new music and a possible tour later this year, Miley says her main priority is feeling good in her own skin, not chasing trends or pleasing critics.

Her latest revelation is a powerful reminder that even global stars with millions of fans can deal with the same insecurities many people face every day.
