Spice Girls star Mel B has proved that when it comes to weddings, once is simply not enough. The 49-year-old singer, famously known as “Scary Spice”, has celebrated her marriage to hairdresser Rory McPhee for the second time, this time in a stunning and spiritual ceremony in Morocco.
The couple first wed in a traditional service at London’s iconic St Paul’s Cathedral last month, an elegant affair steeped in British tradition. But for their second celebration, they opted for something far more personal, vibrant, and infused with Mel’s unmistakable sense of style.
Sharing the news with her 1.6 million Instagram followers, Mel posted a series of joyful snaps from Marrakech, writing:
“We got married!!! Again! A wedding so good we keep the celebration going with our closest and dearest in our fav place at @selmanmarrakech ❤️❤️❤️ we had the time of our lives!!”
The Selman Marrakech, an opulent five-star resort known for its breathtaking gardens, Arabian architecture, and world-class hospitality, proved the perfect backdrop for their romantic day.
Unlike the formality of St Paul’s, the Moroccan celebration embraced colour, glamour, and intimacy. Friends and family gathered under the warm African sun, surrounded by vibrant flowers, candlelit lanterns, and the gentle sounds of traditional Moroccan music.
Mel’s choice to hold a second wedding was about more than just style, it was about celebrating love twice over with the people who matter most. Those closest to the couple were treated to a relaxed yet luxurious day, filled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and music that kept the celebrations going late into the evening.
This marks Mel’s second marriage, she was previously married to film producer Stephen Belafonte from 2007 to 2017. She has three daughters: Phoenix Chi, 25, from her first marriage to dancer Jimmy Gulzar; Angel Iris, 17, whose father is comedian Eddie Murphy; and Madison, 12, from her marriage to Belafonte.
Rory McPhee, a successful hairstylist from Leeds, has been a steady and grounding presence in Mel’s life for several years. The pair are said to have bonded over their shared Yorkshire roots and mutual love of family life.
Fans flooded Mel’s Instagram with well-wishes, with one writing: “You deserve all the happiness in the world. So glad to see you smiling and surrounded by love.” Another added: “Two weddings? That’s how you do it, Scary Spice!”
