Max George has revealed to fans that he is back in hospital, just months after undergoing his second heart surgery.
The 35-year-old singer, best known as a member of boyband The Wanted, shared a photo from his hospital bed this week, keeping his followers updated on his ongoing health battle.
Max first revealed his heart problems in late 2023, when he disclosed that doctors had discovered a “block” in his heart, requiring surgery. In December, he had a pacemaker fitted to help regulate his heartbeat.
Just weeks later, in February this year, he revealed he had needed to go back under the knife for a second procedure, after experiencing “physical symptoms” in his chest.
Since then, Max has tried to keep life as normal as possible, returning to work earlier this year by joining his partner, actress and Strictly star Maisie Smith, on the UK tour of Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds. He also continued to reassure fans on social media that he was taking his recovery seriously and feeling better.
However, his latest update suggests that his recovery has hit another bump in the road. Sharing a candid picture from hospital, Max didn’t go into detail about what prompted the visit but thanked his followers for their ongoing support and promised to keep them informed.
Fans flooded his post with well-wishes, calling him “brave” and urging him to take all the time he needs to focus on his health.

Max rose to fame as part of The Wanted, who scored huge hits in the early 2010s with songs like Glad You Came, Chasing the Sun, and All Time Low. The group reunited in 2021 for a charity tour after bandmate Tom Parker’s cancer diagnosis. Parker sadly passed away in 2022, and Max has spoken in the past about how his own health scare reminded him of the importance of looking after yourself.
At the time of writing, no further details have been given about his current condition, but he is expected to provide more updates as he recovers.
