A 67-year-old man has been injured after falling in a remote agricultural area in Tenerife, with firefighters carrying out a complex rescue operation to reach him.
The incident took place at around 9:40am yesterday morning (Monday) in the El Chorro area of Guía de Isora, in the south of Tenerife, according to the Canary Islands Emergency Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The emergency services received an alert that the man had suffered an accidental fall in difficult terrain and required urgent medical help.
Fire crews were deployed to the location given and managed to extract the man from the hard-to-reach terrain. He was then taken to a safe area where paramedics were waiting. They treated him for multiple injuries before being taken to the Hospital del Sur for further treatment.
The Guardia Civil have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the fall.
