It looks like one of the UK’s biggest girl groups of the early 2000s could soon be making a comeback. Mis-Teeq star Sabrina Washington is officially “back in the fold,” sparking fresh rumours of a reunion with Alesha Dixon and Su-Elise Nash nearly two decades after the trio’s chart-topping heyday.
Formed in 1999, Mis-Teeq became one of Britain’s most successful female groups, blending R&B, garage, and pop into a string of hits that defined an era. With global smashes like Scandalous, One Night Stand, and All I Want, the trio achieved two Top 10 albums and seven consecutive UK Top 10 singles before going their separate ways in 2005.
But despite their success, the group’s relationship hasn’t always been smooth. In 2020, reports surfaced that Sabrina Washington had filed a lawsuit against Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon over songwriting royalties. Sabrina alleged that Alesha had “wrongfully claimed” credits on Mis-Teeq’s first two singles, a move that caused a significant rift between the former bandmates and cast doubt on any hope of a reunion.
Now, it seems the storm has passed. In a new interview with the Daily Mail, Su-Elise Nash revealed that the group has mended fences and are back in touch, reigniting speculation that Mis-Teeq could finally reunite.
“Sabrina’s back in the fold,” Su-Elise shared. “We do like to catch up every now and then and we have a little Mis-Teeq WhatsApp group so we can get in touch and talk about business stuff because there’s always stuff going on in the background, but also just to see how we’re all doing, and I think that’s quite nice. It doesn’t have to be an everyday thing.”
Fans have taken the comment as the clearest sign yet that the trio might be gearing up for a long-awaited return to the stage. The mention of “business stuff going on in the background” has particularly caught attention, with many hoping that means new music, a greatest hits tour, or perhaps a 25th anniversary celebration in 2025.

Mis-Teeq were pioneers of the early-2000s UK garage scene, standing out for their infectious hooks, empowering lyrics, and fierce choreography. Their single Scandalous became a global hit, reaching the U.S. Billboard charts and appearing on major movie soundtracks, including Catwoman and Honey.
Since the group’s split, each member has pursued solo projects. Alesha Dixon became one of British TV’s most recognisable personalities through her judging roles on Strictly Come Dancing and Britain’s Got Talent. Sabrina Washington released solo music and appeared on reality shows like I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, while Su-Elise Nash transitioned into education and music teaching.
Although none of the trio have officially confirmed a Mis-Teeq reunion, Su-Elise’s comments have given fans new hope. Social media has been buzzing with excitement, with one fan writing, “If Mis-Teeq really reunite, my teenage self will SCREAM. Bring back the garage era!”
Another posted, “We need Scandalous 2.0, the world isn’t ready for that level of sass again!”
With nostalgia-fuelled comebacks from groups like Sugababes and Girls Aloud already delighting fans, a Mis-Teeq reunion would be the ultimate addition to the early 2000s revival wave. Whether it’s a tour, re-release, or all-new material, one thing is clear, Mis-Teeq’s story might not be over just yet.
