Luke Littler’s Driving Test Woes Continue as Darts Champ Fails Theory for Fifth Time

Luke Littler may be the brightest young star in darts, but it seems even the most accurate aim in the sporting world can’t help him hit the bullseye when it comes to passing his driving theory test.

The 17-year-old sensation, who last weekend added the World Matchplay title to his ever-growing trophy cabinet, has revealed he’s failed his driving theory test for the fifth time.

To make matters worse, his latest score was actually lower than the result he managed just two weeks ago, when he failed on his fourth attempt.

While his domination on the oche is unquestionable, Littler is already the youngest triple crown winner in darts history, the Highway Code appears to be an altogether different challenge.

Speaking with a cheeky grin after his latest match, Littler admitted that while he can keep his cool in front of thousands of fans, sitting in a quiet exam room is another story entirely.

“It’s frustrating, but I’ll get there. I keep missing the mark on the hazard perception bit, maybe I’m just better at spotting doubles and trebles than road signs.”

Littler’s continued struggles have sparked a wave of banter among fans online, with many offering light-hearted advice. Some suggested he should practise on a dartboard-shaped steering wheel, while others joked that perhaps he’s more suited to a chauffeur-driven lifestyle befitting a world champion.

Despite the setbacks, Littler insists he’s determined to keep trying until he passes. His schedule is already packed with tournaments, media appearances, and training, but somewhere in between, he’s determined to conquer this off-the-oche challenge.

So close! The 18-year-old fell just two marks short of passing the test.

His coach even joked that the repeated failures could be part of a “long game” strategy.

“Luke’s got a competitive streak, and he won’t stop until he’s nailed it. But right now, I think he’d rather take on Michael van Gerwen in a sudden death leg than face another theory test.”

The young star’s driving drama has given fans a rare glimpse into the lighter side of life away from the dartboard. It’s a reminder that even for sporting prodigies, some everyday hurdles are just as tricky as world titles.

For now, Littler remains dependent on lifts from family, friends, and fellow players to get him to matches, a fact that’s become a running joke in the darts community. But if his career so far is anything to go by, it’s only a matter of time before he chalks up a win in the driving test column.
