Love Island 2025 champions Toni Laites and Cach Mercer have opened up about what they’ll be doing with their £50,000 prize money, and it’s not what you might expect from reality TV winners.
While previous champions have splashed their winnings on designer wardrobes, flashy cars, and luxury holidays, Toni and Cach are taking a far more down-to-earth approach.
Toni, a Las Vegas cabana waitress, says her first priority is clearing her debts.
“I need to pay off my student loans,” she revealed. “I want to invest it. I don’t want to go on some crazy shopping spree.”
Her partner Cach, a dancer from London, is equally determined to play it smart.
“Cost of living crisis,” he said. “I’ll save it!”
Making Love Island History
Toni and Cach’s win marks a major moment for Love Island. Toni is the first ever international bombshell to win the UK version of the ITV2 hit, hailing from the USA. She entered the villa on the very first night and quickly became one of the season’s most talked-about contestants.
The couple’s romance blossomed during Casa Amor, the infamous stage of the competition where couples are put to the ultimate test. Against all odds, their connection only grew stronger.
Toni admits she didn’t expect to last long in the villa, let alone win the whole series.
“I feel like I’m representing a whole nation! I didn’t expect to make it past week one,” she laughed. “Hopefully now we’ll just find time to enjoy one another’s company and not let everything else take over.”
A Genuine Love Story
Cach says the secret to their success was staying true to themselves.
“It feels amazing to win,” he shared. “I was 100 per cent authentically myself and luckily the public liked it, so I’m buzzing.”
“I appreciate every moment on the show, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I wouldn’t have done it any other way.”
Fans online have praised the pair for their sincerity, with many calling them the most “genuine couple” Love Island has seen in years.
What’s Next for Toni & Cach?
Aside from financial responsibility, the couple say they’re looking forward to enjoying their post-villa life together without the pressure of constant cameras.
While there’s no doubt lucrative brand deals and media opportunities will come knocking, Toni and Cach insist they want to focus on each other before getting swept up in the whirlwind of reality TV fame.
With their smart approach to money and their commitment to their relationship, it looks like Love Island’s golden couple might just have what it takes to make it in the real world.
