Love Island: All Stars Named Most Complained About Show of 2025 - So Far

Love Island: All Stars has found itself at the top of an unwanted chart, becoming the most complained-about TV programme of 2025 so far, according to new data from Ofcom.

The February 12 episode of ITV2’s reality spin-off received a staggering 1,347 complaints, making it the most controversial broadcast of the year to date. The bulk of viewer backlash stemmed from a fiery argument between former islanders Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Elma Pazar, with many accusing the show of airing bullying and excessive drama.

But that wasn’t the only incident to raise eyebrows. The All Stars season has racked up over 2,300 total complaints since its January launch, with viewers repeatedly voicing concern over the tone and behaviour of the islanders. Particular attention was paid to Grace Jackson’s language toward Luca Bish, which further fuelled criticism about the show’s portrayal of interpersonal conflict.

Coming in second on the list is Celebrity Big Brother, which faced significant fallout following Mickey Rourke’s controversial comments toward fellow housemate JoJo Siwa. The episode in question, which aired April 9, triggered 1,110 complaints, with viewers accusing the Hollywood star of inappropriate behaviour. Rourke was later removed from the Big Brother house following the backlash.

In third place is an episode of GB News’ Headliners, which aired on January 22. During a segment discussing a sermon from a U.S. bishop, host Josh Howie sparked outrage by appearing to link the LGBT community to paedophilia. The segment received widespread condemnation and generated hundreds of formal complaints.

The Brit Awards also made headlines for all the wrong reasons. The 2025 ceremony drew 825 complaints, mainly focused on Sabrina Carpenter’s racy opening number, deemed too provocative for its pre-watershed slot, and Charli XCX’s bold fashion choices, which some viewers felt were inappropriate for a family audience.

Elsewhere, Good Morning Britain’s January 2 episode caused a stir after presenter Adil Ray made remarks perceived as fat-shaming darts sensation Luke Littler, sparking 311 complaints and landing the show eighth on the complaints chart.

While 2025 has already delivered its fair share of must-see TV, it’s clear that controversy has remained a close companion. Whether it's high-octane reality drama, live TV gaffes, or boundary-pushing performances, audiences are not shy about voicing their opinions, and Ofcom’s inbox is proof.
