Channel 4 is rolling out the red carpet for one of its longest-running and most beloved shows, Location, Location, Location, as it celebrates an incredible 25 years on air. The property-hunting favourite will take centre stage on the network with a full night of special programming, including exclusive new content, hilarious outtakes, and a deep dive into the UK’s evolving housing market.
The celebrations will coincide with the launch of the show’s 43rd series on 14 May, led as always by iconic presenting duo Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer. Following the season premiere, viewers will be treated to a special retrospective that explores the changing socio-economic landscape of Britain’s property scene over the past quarter century, all through the lens of the show’s history and impact.
But that’s not all, Channel 4 will also air a second, light-hearted anniversary special, packed with never-before-seen bloopers, behind-the-scenes clips, and the presenters’ favourite on-screen mishaps. Appropriately titled with a nod to the show’s lighter side, it promises “bleeps, bloops and best bits” from two and a half decades of house-hunting highs and lows.
Reflecting on the milestone, Phil Spencer paid tribute to both the journey and the people behind the camera. “Although quite surreal, it’s also been fun looking back and seeing not only how we have changed through the 25 years, but also watching how our friendship developed and then strengthened across the years,” he said. “Being able to visit every part of the four nations and support hundreds of people in their home searches has been an enormous privilege, none of which would have been achievable without so many brilliant people behind the camera.”
Kirstie Allsopp echoed the sentiment, expressing her disbelief at how far the show has come. “However, many times I hear it I still can’t believe it has been 25 years. It is an enormous privilege to have the opportunity to travel around the whole country working with so many lovely house hunters and such brilliant crew,” she said. “When Phil and I started, we knew a bit about property and nothing about TV. We’ve learned a great deal more about property, and a bit about TV.”
Since its debut on 17 May 2000, Location, Location, Location has featured nearly 750 home-seeking stories, toured more than 1,800 properties, and advised on over £175 million worth of property purchases, making it one of the most enduring and trusted names in British television.
