LILY ALLEN QUITS HIT PODCAST ‘MISS ME?’ TO FOCUS ON NEW MUSIC

British singer and songwriter Lily Allen has announced that she is stepping away from her popular podcast Miss Me?, which she co-hosts with longtime friend Miquita Oliver.

The Smile hitmaker revealed the news to fans earlier this week, explaining that she is taking time away from the show to focus on her next big project, a brand-new album.

“Monday’s Miss Me? will be my last for a while because I’m going to be stepping away from the podcast to do some other things,” Lily said in a heartfelt message. “I need some quiet reflection time.”

The podcast, which launched last year, quickly built up a loyal following thanks to Lily and Miquita’s candid, funny, and often deeply personal conversations. Topics ranged from relationships to parenting, mental health, and the music industry, and the duo’s friendship gave the show a unique warmth that resonated with listeners.

Lily reassured fans that her decision wasn’t prompted by any behind-the-scenes drama. “I love it here and I’m not leaving because I’m upset about anything,” she explained. “It’s a big commitment during the week and I won’t be able to give it 100 per cent as I have other things going on at the moment.”

The timing of Lily’s decision comes just months after it was revealed that she and actor David Harbour had separated, following four years of marriage. While she didn’t directly reference the split, her comments about needing “quiet reflection time” suggest she may be focusing on personal growth alongside her music.

Fans of the podcast have taken to social media to share their support, praising Lily for her honesty and encouraging her to prioritise her creative journey. Many are also excited by the prospect of new music, as Lily hasn’t released a full album since No Shame in 2018, a record widely acclaimed for its raw and introspective songwriting.

Miquita Oliver has yet to confirm whether the podcast will continue with guest hosts or take a hiatus altogether. However, Lily hinted that she might return occasionally: “I’m not closing the door forever, I will come back and say hi now and then.”

For now, listeners can enjoy the extensive back catalogue of Miss Me? episodes while eagerly awaiting Lily’s next musical chapter. With her reputation for fearless, heartfelt lyrics, fans are hopeful that her upcoming album will be just as bold and personal as her previous work.
