Kneecap Announce Biggest Tour Yet Across UK

Belfast-based rap trio Kneecap have announced their biggest tour to date, promising to bring their incendiary live show to cities across England, Scotland, and Wales later this year.

The tour comes just months after group member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, known on stage as Mo Chara, was charged with a terrorism-related offence in May for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag at a London gig in November 2024. The group insist the act was taken “out of context,” and they have vowed to continue performing and speaking out.

Sharing the news on Instagram with the defiant caption “Here we go. The Prime Minister himself can’t stop us…”, Kneecap confirmed the tour will kick off on November 14 in Bournemouth and travel through Liverpool, Newcastle and Glasgow.

They will also headline London’s OVO Arena Wembley on September 18, a show that had already been announced and is expected to sell out.

Kneecap have gained a reputation for their politically charged lyrics and unapologetic identity, rapping in both English and Irish while tackling topics such as nationalism, poverty, and identity in Northern Ireland.

The controversy surrounding the Hezbollah flag incident earlier this year sparked heated debate about freedom of expression in music. Kneecap have consistently argued their actions are artistic statements, not political endorsements, saying in a statement:
"We’re used to being misunderstood. What we say and do on stage is about giving a voice to our community and highlighting the struggles we face. Nothing more, nothing less."

Despite the legal challenge hanging over Mo Chara, the trio remain determined to take their message to as many people as possible, and fans appear to be rallying behind them, flooding their Instagram with support following the tour announcement.

Full tour dates announced so far:

  • September 18 – London, OVO Arena Wembley
  • November 14 – Bournemouth
  • Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow – dates to follow

Tickets for the new tour dates are expected to go on sale later this week.
