Katie Price is making tech headlines as she becomes the first UK celebrity to trademark her own AI-generated likeness, reviving her former alter-ego “Jordan” in a groundbreaking deal.
The model-turned-media mogul has signed a six-figure contract with American AI firm OhChat, who will digitally recreate Jordan as an interactive personality. The deal sees Katie lend not just her image, but also her voice and attitude, to the futuristic avatar, potentially opening up a whole new revenue stream from digital appearances, endorsements, and fan interactions.
“I’m in competition with myself now!” Katie joked. “Jordan’s back, and I love it.”
To create the AI Jordan, Katie recorded 30 phrases for the software to replicate her tone and mannerisms. Among them are quirky lines like: “I like going horse riding,” and “This week for dinner I’ve got beef burgers.” The avatar is said to capture her personality “perfectly,” according to Katie, and fans will even be able to interact with the virtual Jordan in real time.
The 46-year-old reality star told The Sun: “The Jordan days were the best days of my life. This AI move is so clever. It’s a genius move. It’s also a way for me to feel like her again.”
It’s a bold step for the TV personality, who’s reinvented herself time and time again over her decades-long career. From glamour modelling in the ‘90s to reality TV, business ventures, and multiple autobiographies, Katie’s no stranger to evolution. But bringing back a past version of herself, digitally, is something entirely new.
“I see it as empowering,” she said. “I’m owning my image in a completely modern way. No one else can be Jordan now, not even AI without my say so.”
OhChat has confirmed that Price is one of several global celebrities they’re working with to create “intelligent digital doubles,” but she is the first British woman to officially trademark her likeness for this use.
Whether this leads to more stars creating AI versions of themselves remains to be seen, but Katie has certainly trailblazed yet another unexpected path. Jordan is back, and this time, she’s got binary code.
