Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo Call Time on Hit Podcast

Podcast royalty Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have shocked fans by announcing an unexpected hiatus from their hugely popular show NewlyWeds, and loyal listeners are convinced there’s a big secret behind the decision.

The beloved duo, who tied the knot just two years ago on 20 May 2023, made the announcement during the latest episode of their podcast, recorded inside their home renovation-in-progress, which, temporarily, has been doubling up as a makeshift studio.

In a heartfelt message, Sophie broke the news: “We actually have a bit of an announcement for you guys. We are going to go on a pause, we’re going to go on a little break, but we will be back and we love you guys so much.”

She continued with her trademark wit: “We’re so grateful that you’ve been on this journey with us, so on that note, if you are getting married, good luck, and if you’re getting divorced, we love you.”

Jamie, never one to miss a punchline, chimed in with:

“If you are renovating your house,”
To which Sophie immediately responded:
“Don’t do it.”

While the couple appeared relaxed and light-hearted about their announcement, fans have been left stunned, and are already speculating wildly in the comments, convinced the pair are hiding some very exciting news.

Social media was awash with theories, the most popular being that the pair are about to enter parenthood.

“I’m guessing it’s gunna return with a new name… NearlyParents,” one follower joked.
Another commented: “I honestly think Sophie is pregnant,” while a third added, “Anyone else thinking a baby announcement is coming with this episode?”

The speculation isn’t completely unfounded. With cryptic comments, a house renovation, and a sudden pause in their podcast, fans say all signs point to a major life update on the horizon. And let’s face it, NewlyWeds turning into NewlyParents would be the ultimate rebrand.

The Made In Chelsea alumni have become fan favourites with their raw, hilarious, and relatable takes on married life, quickly turning NewlyWeds into one of the UK’s most beloved couple-led podcasts.

While the break has sparked a mixture of disappointment and anticipation, both Jamie and Sophie have promised they will be back, and if fan theories are correct, they might just have a tiny new guest joining them next season.
