A beloved Gogglebox couple has announced they have been axed from the Channel 4 show, leaving fans across the country devastated.
Scottish favourites Roisin and Joe, who joined the hit reality programme in February 2022, shared the emotional news via TikTok, confirming they will not return for season 26.
“After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa, Channel 4 have decided it’s time for Joe and I to stretch our legs and have not asked us back,” Roisin revealed in a video posted to her account. “Therefore, we are leaving the Gogglebox family.”
The couple, based in Glasgow, quickly became viewer favourites for their hilarious banter, relatable reactions, and warm chemistry. Their departure comes as a shock to many who had grown accustomed to seeing them every Friday night.
Roisin added, “We couldn’t be more grateful to Studio Lambert for the opportunity, the experience has actually been so mad, and we will miss watching TV with you all.”
She went on to say, “It’s been an honour to represent Scotland as some of the first Scottish people on the show and prove we don’t actually need subtitles!”
Fans quickly flooded the comments with messages of love, sadness, and support. One wrote, “Noooo! You two were the highlight of Gogglebox. Genuinely gutted!” Another said, “Friday nights won’t be the same without you both. Thank you for the laughs.”
Roisin and Joe were among a growing number of newer cast members who helped bring fresh perspectives to the long-running format, which sees real families and friends reacting to the week's biggest TV moments. Their easy charm and quick wit stood out, and many fans are now questioning why Channel 4 would let go of such a popular pair.
“We have made friends for life,” Roisin continued, “and after filming every week for years, you have become like our family. Miss you already.”

Channel 4 has yet to make an official comment on the decision, but fans are already calling for the network to reconsider, with some even launching hashtags like #BringBackRoisinAndJoe in hopes of seeing the couple return in future seasons or spin-offs.
For now, the couple seems to be taking the news with grace and gratitude, focusing on the positives from their time on the show and the connections they’ve made with viewers.
As one fan put it, “You didn’t just sit on a sofa, you made us feel like we were sitting right there with you. Thank you for everything.”
