Girls Aloud fans were treated to a surprise mini reunion this week as Kimberley Walsh and Cheryl Tweedy turned up to support their bandmate Nicola Roberts at the London gala performance of Hadestown. Nicola, 38, is currently starring in the hit musical as Persephone, the glamorous goddess of wine and revelry.
The special night out marked one of the rare occasions the girls have reunited since their hugely successful comeback tour last year. However, Nadine Coyle was unable to attend the West End gathering, leaving fans hopeful that a full group reunion could still be on the cards in future.
The reunion comes just as new figures reveal the extraordinary financial success of the band’s 2024 Girls Aloud Show tour.
Tour earnings revealed
According to newly filed accounts, the 30-date arena run pulled in an impressive £3.5 million. Split between the four members, the sum equates to around £850,000 each.
The earnings were recorded under Let’s Go Eskimo Productions, a company set up in 2023 specifically to handle the tour finances. The firm’s name comes from a cheeky lyric in the group’s 2004 hit Love Machine, showing the band’s trademark sense of humour remains intact.
The Girls Aloud Show was officially the biggest UK arena tour of 2024, with tickets selling out across multiple cities and fans praising the nostalgia-filled setlist.
A special night for Nicola
While the tour celebrated the group’s musical history, Nicola is now enjoying her own spotlight moment on the West End stage. Kimberley and Cheryl posed for selfies with their former bandmate at the gala performance of Hadestown, sharing smiles that reminded fans of their early days together on Popstars: The Rivals.
Audience members were quick to praise Nicola’s performance, describing her as “mesmerising” in the role of Persephone. One theatre-goer wrote on social media: “So wonderful to see Nicola Roberts shining on stage, and lovely to see Cheryl and Kimberley cheering her on.”

Girls Aloud legacy lives on
For fans, the group’s enduring bond is just as heart-warming as their music. Although Sarah Harding’s passing in 2021 still casts a shadow over the group, the members have continued to honour her memory both personally and professionally.
The success of their 2024 reunion tour proved that their songs, from Sound of the Underground to Biology, still resonate with audiences more than 20 years after the group first formed.
And while no official plans for future shows have been announced, the buzz around Nicola’s West End success and the band’s financial triumph is sure to fuel fresh speculation that the girls could hit the road once more.
For now, fans are simply delighted to see Kimberley, Cheryl, and Nicola supporting each other, both on stage and off.
