In a revelation that could rewrite everything we thought we knew about Freddie Mercury, a new biography is making waves with its explosive claim: the Queen frontman secretly fathered a daughter during the height of the band’s fame, and kept her hidden until his death.
Titled Love, Freddie, the book by acclaimed music biographer Lesley-Ann Jones delves deep into Mercury’s personal life, offering unprecedented insight into the man behind the legend. The most jaw-dropping claim? That Mercury fathered a child in 1976 during an affair with the wife of a close friend, a liaison reportedly kept under tight wraps by those in his inner circle.
The woman, now 48 and known only as B, is said to be working in the medical field and has maintained her anonymity until now. According to the book, she shared a close and loving relationship with Mercury right up until his death in 1991. It’s alleged that he visited her regularly and entrusted her with an astonishing gift: 17 volumes of handwritten personal journals, chronicling his private thoughts, memories, and emotions.
In the book, B finally breaks her silence, explaining her reasons for stepping out of the shadows more than three decades later. In excerpts published by the Daily Mail, she writes:
“After more than three decades of lies, speculation and distortion, it is time to let Freddie speak.”
She continues:
“Those who have been aware of my existence kept his greatest secret out of loyalty to Freddie. That I choose to reveal myself in my own midlife is my decision and mine alone. I have not, at any point, been coerced into doing this.”
Perhaps most compellingly, B asserts her place in Mercury’s legacy:
“He entrusted his collection of private notebooks to me, his only child and his next of kin.”
While the book stops short of naming her or providing DNA proof, Jones claims the evidence, both emotional and physical, paints a compelling picture. Only Mercury’s closest confidants were reportedly aware of B’s existence, and none have come forward to deny the claims.
