Stephen Fry has lifted the lid on what it was really like filming the much-anticipated Celebrity Traitors, and he’s not holding back.
In a revealing interview on The Show People podcast, the legendary actor and presenter described his time on the hit BBC reality show as “emotionally violent”, comparing it to the strangely painful pleasure of a Chinese foot massage.
“It was a bit like a Chinese foot massage,” Fry said. “You know it is absolutely agony, but you sort of want to do it again. It is emotionally violent but you kind of love it.”
Stephen is part of an all-star cast making their way to the now-infamous Ardross Castle, where they’ll be split into Traitors and Faithfuls for a game of deception, betrayal, and psychological warfare.
But while he was tight-lipped about whether he’s a Traitor or not, he didn’t hold back about the mental toll the show took on him.
“It’s so extraordinary what it does to the psychology of the individual,” he explained. “And I just thought it would be really interesting to play it. And that’s what I found.”
The celeb version of the smash-hit game show will once again be hosted by the inimitable Claudia Winkleman, and features a jaw-dropping line-up of famous faces, including:
