Dua Lipa can now add “Spanish speaker” to her ever-growing list of talents! The 29-year-old pop sensation has officially passed her GCSE-level Spanish exam, celebrating the achievement with fans on Instagram, and revealing that she’s not stopping there.
Currently performing across Europe on her Radical Optimism Tour, Dua took time out from her busy schedule to continue learning Spanish, studying with her private tutor between shows.
Sharing her excitement on Instagram Stories, the Houdini singer posted a screenshot from a Zoom call with her teacher, smiling proudly as she announced her results.
She wrote:
“Also just graduated this morning in my GCSE Spanish ❤️ Love youuuu @catyvillanuevamatar the best teacher!!!!!”
In a follow-up Story, the chart-topper revealed that she’s already taking things to the next level, literally, by enrolling in A-level Spanish. Alongside a photo of her new textbook, she added the caption:
“Next next next!!!!!!! 💋”
The Houdini hitmaker took to her Instagram Story to share the exciting news with fans, posting a sweet Zoom selfie with her Spanish teacher and writing, “Also just graduated this morning in my GCSE Spanish” (complete with cry and heart emojis). The singer’s followers have been full of praise, with many commending her dedication to lifelong learning despite her global fame and hectic schedule. One fan commented:
“Imagine doing a world tour AND studying for your GCSEs at the same time. Dua really is that girl.”
Another wrote: “She just keeps raising the bar. Talent, intelligence, and drive, she’s unstoppable.”
Dua, who was born in London to Kosovar-Albanian parents, is already multilingual, she speaks fluent English and Albanian, and has often expressed her love for learning about different cultures through language.
It’s not the first time the Grammy-winning artist has shown her academic side. During interviews, she’s spoken about her passion for reading and writing, and her belief that education can empower creativity.
She told Vogue in a past interview: “I love learning new things. Whether it’s through travel, books, or people, I always want to feel like I’m growing and evolving.”
Her fans have also noted how her interest in language has subtly influenced her music. Many of her tracks feature international sounds and collaborations, from Fever with Belgian singer Angèle to her Spanish-language remix of Blow Your Mind (Mwah).
With her tour continuing to sell out arenas and new music rumoured to be in the works, Dua Lipa continues to prove that she’s far more than just a pop star, she’s an artist, a student, and a role model for anyone chasing self-improvement.
So, while most of us might struggle to balance work, life, and study, Dua’s doing it all, and in two languages!
