Television favourite Davina McCall has shocked fans by reportedly getting engaged to her boyfriend, celebrity hairstylist Michael Douglas, just weeks after saying she would never walk down the aisle again.
The much-loved presenter, 56, has been with Michael since 2018, but the pair’s romance blossomed after years of friendship. Their relationship began shortly after Davina finalised her divorce from ex-husband Matthew Robertson, with whom she shares three children.
According to reports, Davina kept the news under wraps to ensure her family and closest friends were the first to know, even keeping it quiet from her bosses at ITV.
“She has a ring but is only wearing it in private,” a friend of the star told The Sun. “It is wonderful news and everyone who knows them is just so thrilled. They really do make the most gorgeous couple.”
The engagement news comes as a surprise to many fans, as Davina recently admitted that she didn’t see herself marrying again. In a candid interview earlier this year, she explained: “I don’t think I need to get married again. I love what we have, I love our life together, marriage just isn’t a priority.”
